From 6 to 10 July 2022, more than 250 folklore sets and ethnographic ensembles will meet at the international folklore festival \u201cBaltica\u201d. The festival program will be wide-ranging and diverse \u2013 concerts, singing, dancers, masters and workshops, folklore set dates, evening, meeting with storytellers and other exciting events.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 8<\/strong> the festival will rotate in Riga. In the course of the day, on two scenes in the Garden of Vermane and in the area of freedom, clusters from all Latvia will show the diversity of our people's local singing traditions and the listeners will be given the opportunity to explore the specificities of local traditions, singing and musicisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the way from the Garden of Vermane to the area of freedom, visitors and participants of the festival will have the opportunity to turn into various living cultural heritage workshops \u2013 to try to learn a word in the libbery, to extend the suiti baked bread and the white butter of the ructsmen, to compare gloves from various Latvian provinces, to see the legendary Livani glass, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Riga Latvian Society House on July 8. 12.00 will be able to explore traditional musical instruments from the Intangible Cultural Heritage List \u2013 Introduction, Bubyte, Far Tank, Dour Tank and Petersburg \u2013 17.00 is the beginning of the festival \u201cBaltica\u201d zolite tournament, at 21.00 is a festival club with dancers and a song room. The games and dancers will show 14 folklore sets from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9 July, <\/strong>the festival will continue in Alsunga, Dundaga, Kuld\u012bga, Skrunda, Poppy, Talsi and Ventspils. On the other hand, the Latvian Etnography Museum will meet all Latvian provinces \u2013 the exhibition of the culinary heritage of the municipality, the individual concerts of the clusters, the dates of folklore sets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2022, the theme of the international folklore festival is \u201cgame\u201d and the motto \u201ccome with me\u201d. \u201cBaltica\u201d has been held in one of the Baltic States since 1987, in cooperation with state and local government institutions, as well as non-governmental organisations. The festival is organised by the Latvian National Cultural Centre in collaboration with Latvian ethnography museum, Turaida museum reserve, Kuld\u012bga municipality, Riga City Council, Sigulda municipality, Talsi municipality, Ventspils municipality and Ventspils cultural centre.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
